Kids grow so fast, leaving a trail of outgrown STUFF. Chances are, that STUFF is sitting in your garage or basement this very minute, not being used by anyone.

Surely SOMEONE could get a little more mileage out of that STUFF.

How great would it be to put it to some use? To give it to a friend and get something you need in return? To be environmentally responsible AND save a ton of money at the same time? (Not to mention declutter your house!)

That's what Swap Mamas is all about ... getting back to basics. It's about getting to know other parents, making connections, and doing a little old school trading with friends. (You can read about how the idea was born on my page.)

Sometimes you may want to swap, Even Steven. Sometimes you may simply want to clean out your garage and donate your goods to another Swap Mama. It's entirely up to you. The hope, of course, is that if you GET, you also, somehow, GIVE. Believe me, the money you'll spend on shipping is NOTHING compared to what it would cost to purchase new goods. The only way this concept works is if everyone who GETS, GIVES when they can.

It all boils down to this. The more you give, the more you get, whether that be actual goods, or the simple satisfaction that comes from helping someone out. There is no points system. There is no money exchanged. There IS a whole lot of good karma to go around.

Once you make a connection, I'm out of the loop, and it's up to the two of you to work out the shipping details offline, via email. (As a rule, the Giver always takes care of shipping costs. This way, no one is actually PAYING to RECEIVE goods.) Remember, the whole point of this site is to avoid the transfer of ANY funds.
