A Wedding Set Finds A New Home

Michele

A couple of years ago the hubby and I were snorkeling in Grand Cayman. I didn't want to lose my wedding set in the ocean, so I rented a locker and put it in there, along with some other stuff (towels, gifts to take home, etc.) When we came back, I went to the locker and it wouldn't open. So I went to the front and told them. They told me to my face that they hadn't rented a locker to me (this was just three hours later). My husband finally made them open the locker, and IT WAS EMPTY!

Being outsiders, there was no justice for us -- it was their word against ours. We had no receipt, and by the time the cops came, no key. We didn't even have ID on us; it was back on the cruise ship. Basically, we got robbed. I had been torn up over it for a while ... even kept my empty Zales box.

Why did I just tell you this story? Because Swap Mamas just allowed me to swap for a NEW WEDDING SET! The hubby and I were saving but something would always happen and we'd use the funds for this or that. It wasn't happening anytime soon. I was able to swap with Amanda Moore for her old wedding set. (That, by the way, looked quite a lot like my old one!) I traded her a complete wardrobe of boys name brand 3T clothes (Gap, Gymbo -- everything from jeans to shirts to jackets to shoes), custom gifts for her kids, and TWO authentic Coach bags (one with a matching wallet). I threw in a lot of extras, too.

This amazing oppurtunity would have never presented itself to me without this site!

A Family Blessed

Nicole

Swap Mamas has really been a gift from God. My youngest boy is seven months old, and when he was born he had severe jaundice. The doctor I had was incompetent, neglected to test for it, and didn't catch it right away. Our nightmare began.

Wyatt has been in and out of the hospital many times in his short little life. I was unable to convince any of the hospitals or medical places to get me a bili light for home use so I could take him home. I spent many days in the hospital with my son trying to get him well. The Mamas rallied and prayed for us. They even searched for bili lights for my baby boy. A few Mamas sent me small gifts for Wyatt. It was so encouraging.

Sure it's an awesome place to trade/recycle the every day things of this world, but it is so much more! It's a place for moms to gather and find strength and friendship. A place of healing.

We are a family of four on one income and we have made some amazing swaps. Our family has truly been blessed by the mothers of Swap Mamas.
